Finding Your Niche

Finding A NicheThe internet is one huge place. There are so many things and so many products out there that you can find. These days, it’s hard not to think that if you have any need or looking for a solution, you will find it by “googling” it. The immense resources available on the internet can lead us to believe that all is lost when it comes to starting an online business, as chances are, many areas that most people can think about would already have so much competition.

Market Research

On the other hand, one of the great things about the internet is that because of its vastness, there are still areas that are not completely filled or saturated. Opportunities abound in terms of what can be captured on the internet. With thorough online market research, one can find a good area or niche that can be entered into. Performing online market research requires performing similar tasks as performing market research on an offline traditional business. It means doing the following:

  • finding out how much volume of business happens for each industry or sector,
  • finding out how much supply and competition there is in the market
  • Trends in the industry (the hottest and latest, and the ones to stay clear of)
  • finding out how much demand there is for a particular market/sector

There is a difference with an online market research, and it is to do with how these tasks are done for an online business. Normally on an offline business, market research is performed using things like focus group discussions, surveys, and statistical data analysis of government/industry information. With online market research, the trick is to find a niche using semantics or words that people search for. These are called keywords.

Finding Niche Keywords

There are many tools out there that allow you to research on keywords and how the supply and demand is for that particular search. These tools will tell you how many searches there are for a particular keyword, how many websites rank or use those keywords and what the value is in terms of being #1 for a keyword. Google has a keyword tool that will show you some basic information on performance of a keyword. The trick is to find a keyword that has a healthy amount of searches with not many competition. This will ensure that you can easily get to the top spot with your blogs or articles if you start getting into marketing a product.

Once you have found your keyword, you can then start thinking of looking at becoming an affiliate and sell products for other people. Becoming an affiliate is the easiest way to start making money once you find your niche. This is because it’s free to promote someone else’s products, and you don’t have to worry about creating your own website and building your product from scratch to get into a niche. Many wealthy affiliates start out using this process in order to be able to thrive in an otherwise competitive internet world.

I hope this has been a beneficial post for you.

To your many internet successes.

Internet Marketing Event That Rocks

I’m really excited to put this post up, as thinking about this reminds me of my first experience of this event back in January this year. It’s probably the most exciting internet marketing event that you’ll find in Australia and the UK, and the content of the event is absolutely golden! I got a lot of great feedback about the event, and I myself have learned a heap load on the day itself. An event is being held this weekend in Brisbane, and one in Sydney on 16th and 17th of May, and I’m so excited to be part of the Sydney event.

Australia’s Leading Internet Marketing Event

The event is called Smart Online Profit Systems, and it’s conducted by 2 of Australia’s leading internet marketers, Shaun Stenning and Sean Rasmussen. Both of these guys are my mentors and have taught me a lot about internet marketing over the past year. I listened to their seminar, and each time, there is always something new that I pick up. The last event in January was packed, and since then, Sean and Shaun have conducted several internet marketing events around capital cities in Australia for the past 4 months. All of them have been massive successes, and people who have attended are so grateful for what they have learned, and the inspiration that Sean and Shaun have given to the audience to kickstart their online ventures.

Here’s what I have to say about the event:

And here’s what another event attendee had to say about the event:

Sean and Shaun Show

Internet Marketing Event - ShaunAndSeanBoth Sean and Shaun have learned internet marketing the hard way. Over the years, they have learned from their mistakes and their successes and have built on their internet marketing successes to become millionaires. Both Sean and Shaun came from humble backgrounds, and internet marketing has led them to live a wealthy and abundant lifestyle. The Smart Online Profit Systems internet marketing event will show you all that they’ve learned from their online marketing successes and the pitfalls that people should be wary about and stay away from.

Recession? What Recession?

Everyone has been taking about the recession these days, and worrying about their jobs and their income. The stock market is crashing, and the property market is going nowhere. The media is full of doom and gloom. People have even called this a depression. However, what people don’t realise is that people who make money online have not suffered from this recession! In fact, a lot of people have thrived and even increasing their incomes online by doing internet marketing! People still surf, and more and more people are buying things online and finding great online deals that are not to be found in the shops and shopping malls outside. So you see, the internet is one area that has not been affected by the recession, and is a great way for people to protect and even boost their incomes and earnings online. This internet marketing event will show you how.

Who does this Internet Marketing Event cater for?

This seminar cater for a wide range of audience, from someone who wants to start learning how to make money online, to someone who is already marketing products online and wants to learn techniques to better improve their earnings online. You don’t even have to be a computer whiz to get into internet marketing. As long as you know how to surf the internet and turn on your computer, that is all you ever need to get the most out of this internet marketing event. If you have products already online, Sean and Shaun will show you strategies to boost your sales even further. If you want to find out more, just click on this link.

Just to show you how much fun I had during the Smart Online Profit Systems internet marketing event, the team behind the event even had the energy to do this video after 2 full days of helping out and absorbing all the wonderful information on internet marketing. Watch this entertaining video (Note: we don’t expect the event attendees to do this, this is not part of the internet marketing event and just for your entertainment, so enjoy!):

I highly encourage you to check out this internet marketing event, and apart from Brisbane and Sydney, there will be one in Perth and in London happening in June, so check out the website: http://sopslive.com

Keywords and Writing SEO Content

Welcome to another post of Internet Wealth Builder! This post will focus on the SEO concepts I’ve learned from the book “Year Of The Affiliate” , primarily on Keywords and keyword positioning for an SEO-friendly blogpost.

SEO-Friendly Content

Keywords - from YOTAWhen writing a blog or a web page, the first thing that you need to think about is the SEO side of things. The content has to be such that the search engine will be able to pick it up and display as high as possible in its search results. Here are some tips on how to SEO your content:

Choosing Keywords

Choose a specific Keyword for your blogpost or web page. This may be in a form of a phrase or a single word. This helps you with having a targeted focus for the search engines to pick up your website for a certain search. You can choose from having a broad keyword like for example health, fitness, wealth, business, or you can choose to use what is called as a longtail keyword, which in essence is a keyword that is drilled down from a broad keyword. Examples of a longtail keyword would be for fitness, you might instead drill down to a specific area in fitness like equipment, which could be a treadmill, and then drill down to the type and brand of treadmill – “Basic Nordic Treadmill”.

There are pros and cons with using a broad keyword and a longtail keyword. A broad keyword would enable you to target a much broader audience, hence, a wider and bigger market to spread your word. However, the competition may be very stiff, and this makes it difficult for you to get good rankings with the search engines, despite having done all the things you can do to search-engine optimise your site.

A longtail keyword, however, can limit your market to that specific phrase that you’re intending to use. It can be both a good thing and a bad thing, depending on how big a market is for a specific longtail keyword. If there is a huge demand for a longtail keyword, but not much competition, then chance are you will have a better ranking from the search engines.

Keyword Density

Ideally you’d like to have your keywords appear as many times as possible on your blog or your page so that the search engines would treat your page or blog with higher relevance. However, you have to be careful not to overdo this because search engines do filter out spam, and by having excessively used your keywords on your blog or page, you will raise the red flag with the search engines. They will consider your site “spammy” and you’d end up being discredited by the search engines.

The ideal recommended number for keyword density is 3% to 5%. Anything less than 3% is probably too few for the search engines to consider your blog or site for relevance on those keywords. More than 5% is spammy, as mentioned above. In case you don’t know how to calculate keyword density, it’s the number of times your keyword appears on your blog, divided by the total number of words on your blog or page.

Keyword in Titles and Headings

Ensure that you have your keyword on the title of your blog or page. This is important, as the search engines do consider the relevance based on the title of the blog or page. Ensure that you also use the Headings1 (H1) or Headings2 (H2) for your subject headings, and include the keywords there. This again will help the search engines determine its relevance.

Bolding and Italics of Keywords

An extra handy trick for SEO is to bold your keyword at least once and also italicise your keyword once. This will enable the search engines to further identify that the topic of discussion on your blog or page is pertaining to those keywords you have picked. One recommendation that I can give you is to try and set to bold a keyword in one paragraph, and italicise a keyword on another paragraph. That way, the search engines won’t think that you’re also being spammy.

Keywords in Image Description

Image description is something that people neglect to do in many cases, but is very handy in terms of helping with your SEO rankings. Simply put in your keywords as part of your image description, and this will help you with building relevance to your blogpost and page as well.

Meta Tags and Categories

If you’re blogging, ensure that you put in your keywords in the meta-tag and categories, as these also help in building relevance with the search engines. Some people may argue on this point as being outdated, but it doesn’t hurt to include your keywords to add an extra item that could still be used to build relevance to the search engines.

Internal Links

Ensure that you put in some internal links on your blog or page. Internal links mean that you put a link to one of your other pages or older blogposts onto the page or blog that you’re writing, as this will help with the search engine spiders to determine that your content is associated with an existing relevant and trusted content.

These topics are covered in much more depth in the book “Year Of The Affiliate“, but I hope this gives you an idea on what you can do to ensure that your blog gets noticed by the search engines, and would result to better readership and traffic.

Peak Performance Internet Marketing

Welcome to another post of Internet Wealth Builder!

I just came back from Brisbane from a great weekend of internet marketing coaching with my mentor Sean Rasmussen, and I had such a buzz coming out of it. Though I’m always excited to learn new things and take on new challenges, the session I had on the weekend was more than just internet marketing. It was a combination of networking with a bunch of top internet marketers in Australia, as well as learning about how we can take our practices to the next level. But there was more offered to us at the coaching session. You see, my mentor Sean is a great friend of a very inspirational, ex-Hollywood actor who happens to be his mentor. Sean invited him to come along to our session, and tell us about how we can take our internet marketing to a higher level.

Sean Rasmussen and Kurek Ashley

Sean Rasmussen, myself and Kurek Ashley

You may think that this guy has got something to do with a new internet marketing strategy. I’d have to tell you that it is more than that! In order for us to become the best internet marketers, we had to take a step outside of internet marketing and work on our mindset and our emotions to drive us to the next level up. We heard from one of the top peak performance coaches in the world, Kurek Ashley. Kurek has an amazing story to tell. He started out as a Hollywood actor who was doing well with his profession, working alongside the likes of Sylvester Stallone and Chuck Norris, until a tragedy happened and completely turned his life around. He went really low in his life, to the point that you would call absolute rock bottom, but he managed to pull himself back up, to become one of the top peak performance coaches in the world!

Kurek wrote a book titled How Would Love Respond which is a bestseller novel for self-improvement. I thoroughly enjoyed our session, where he taught us strategies that would bring wealth, abundance and success to any areas of our lives, and definitely how we can become successful internet marketers through improving our mindset and taking action. Reading his book is just awesome! It’s a very inspirational story that also teaches a lot about abundance, how you can become wealthy through your mind, the 3Ps of Power, and much more. I highly recommend picking up a copy of the book if you want to become successful, be it in internet marketing or other aspects of your life!

This is a slightly different post for Internet Wealth Builder, but something that I’d like to share to help you in your journey in internet marketing and in many aspects of your life. I hope you will find many successes with your internet marketing through inspirational people like Kurek Ashley.

Blogging on Your Passions

Welcome to yet another exciting post for Internet Wealth Builder! This week, I will be focusing on blogging and how to go about it.

Blogging Your Passions

PassionI mentioned in one of my previous post that there is a way for you to make money with blogging. This is making money without using relying on AdWords and advertising on your blogs. Blogs are a great way to generate traffic to your other sites, as long as you know how to do it. A great more detail is mentioned in the book “Year Of The Affiliate” by my mentor Sean Rasmussen.

The one big question that some newcomers to internet marketing have in their minds is, what do I blog about? I don’t know what to write about and to share to the rest of the world! All the more, what do I write about that would enable me to make money in the first place? First of all, when you start out in internet marketing, don’t worry about the money yet. The money will come once you have learned and established yourself. I learned this when I started out. I was chasing the money and trying to find what area is hot at the moment, even if I don’t have a single clue what it’s about. I realised that this was not the right approach, that I can never convince someone to buy something from me on an item that I don’t know about! Though making money is indeed the name of the game here, you need to set some basic things straight if you are to succeed in whatever you do.

First of all, you need to have a passion for something to be able for you to succeed. This goes with your blogs. Each and every one of us must have something that we are passionate about, be it music, cars, travel, our jobs, horses, or whatever you are interested in. There is no limit to what you can be passionate about, but just ensure that it is something tasteful and something that you think a lot of people in this world would be able to share with you. That way, you will be able to express yourself much better, and it will be much easier for you to talk about the subject and be very confident about it.

Building Trust Through Blogging

TrustBlogging about a passion is also great in the sense that you are able to share to others what you know in the subject, and other people can learn from it. It is through this that people will find value, and this will eventually lead to a relationship-building process. If people find great value with what you are blogging, they are most likely going to follow your blog, and they will most likely be interested in the other things that you do. The other things may mean your other sites which would sell products (whether associated to your subject or not). These people who follow your blog would have a greater propensity to purchase from you because you would have built the trust with them, and hence they know that you are an honest person, someone that they can rely on.

This is one very important thing I learned from Sean’s book “Year Of The Affiliate“  when I first started out. Not only did my journey into the internet marketing world become so much more enjoyable, it brought out the best in me, which is my capacity to share to the world and inspire others with my thoughts and with my past experiences through my blog. I truly encourage you to seek out what it is that you’re passionate about in life and share it with the rest of the online world. That whole process will definitely lead you to building great relationships online, and will eventually lead to great sales and conversion rates.

I hope you enjoyed another great tip from Internet Wealth Builder!

Smart Online Profit Systems

ShaunAndSeanMy mentor, Sean Rasmussen, has recently teamed up with one of Australia’s (and arguably the world’s) top internet marketers, Shaun Stenning, to teach people about successful strategies to make money online. Sean and Shaun (or known as S1 and S2 to save from confusion) have been successful in generating massive income from internet marketing that they now run their own companies and work full-time as internet marketers. They both had to go through difficulty gathering all the information, and along the way, they have learned how to create an effective strategy to make money online.

They’ve come up with a seminar called Smart Online Profit Systems, which is designed to show people how easy it is to make money online without the huge investment. Plus, they teach people what to look out for and what to do to save them from all the mistakes these guys experienced before.

Smart Online Profit Systems ROCK!

I’ve been to the very first Smart Online Profit Systems event in Sydney as a volunteer, and I was blown away by what I learned! I’ve met a lot of people who have been amazed by the results that can be produced out of this system! Even if I’m already a student of Sean’s, I still continually get amazed by how much there is to profit from the internet, and the strategies they teach are not even that difficult at all! At the end of the first day of the seminar, we were challenged to do some of the strategies overnight to make money online by selling an e-book, and whoever gets the most sales will be rewarded. I did briefly work on the strategies that night, as I was already quite tired from volunteering, but still wanted to try it out. And guess what? I made a sale (and my first one at that)!  I was so amazed that I couldn’t believe how quick it all happened!

Shaun Stenning has now also become one of my mentors and is teaching me the techniques that he uses, and I have to say that this guy is such an inspiration! He has achieved what a lot of more mature adults have not achieved in their lifetime, and yet he is a very down-to-earth, easy going guy who wants to help people achieve great success in their lives. He has coached several guys already and have become very successful.

I’ve mainly been talking about affiliate marketing here on this blog, but there is more to learn from Shaun with regards to traffic trading and building databases of leads and auto-responder systems. I will be discussing them more as time goes on to share my knowledge with you. However, I highly recommend going to the Smart Online Profit Systems seminar, which should be going to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane. It is definitely worth it, and it will show you things that the rest of the world don’t teach you about making money on the internet!

I’ll leave you with a video from the very successful Perth event of Smart Online Profit Systems:

How Social Bookmarking Can Help in SEO

social mediaSocial bookmarking has become a recent phenomenon in the internet, and has started only in the last 4-5 years. Originally, people use it to keep track of their bookmarks on the browser and those articles they found useful on the internet. They then share it with a few friends who would then share it to their other friends. This is really the main purpose of social bookmarking. However, the good thing that comes out of this is that the more a site gets bookmarked by people, the more it appears in different user’s pages. Thus, when the search engines trawl through the net to produce its search results, it will then recognise that this certain site is becoming more relevant, and thus puts its rankings up the page! I discovered this information when I read Sean’s book, “Year of the Affiliate“.

What are Good Social Bookmarking Sites?

In the recent years, there has been an increase in the number of social bookmarking sites around. There used to be only Del.icio.us (now called Delicious.com), but now some of the popular ones are DIGG.com, Reddit.com, Mixx.com, Propeller.com, StumbleUpon.com and TaggZilla.com. Sphinn.com is also another one that is good for internet marketers.

How to Effectively Use Social Bookmarking Sites for SEO

The key to get into the social bookmarking sites is to make friends with as many people as you can. However, before you go on a rampage and start adding people as friends, be aware that there are users out there that don’t just take people in as friends until you prove to them that you are a genuine person who would bookmark sites for its great content, and not to just support their friends and perform SEO. Of course there are people who would be only after the SEO part, but chance are, they won’t gain the respect of some people on these social media sites.

In order for you to be successful at it, try following someone you want to be friends with, and it may well be those that are at the top of the social media users list. Check out what they are bookmarking and make comments on them and bookmark them on your page as well. This can eventually draw their attention to you and would result in them perhaps adding you as a friend or noticing you. When they add you in, and they bookmark your submissions, and as long as you’re keeping up the relationship, you will then reap the benefits of getting a good page ranking!

There are a fair bit more strategies mentioned in Sean Rasmussen’s “Year of the Affiliate” book, which are described in more detail. But to start off, I think this approach is a good way for you to gain a good ground in the social bookmarking scene. Just make sure that you keep the trust on the people you build the relationship with, and try not to be self-promotional.

I hope this has been a beneficial post for you from Internet Wealth Builder!

Great Simple Tips on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Welcome to another post on Internet Wealth Builder! This week, we’ll tackle on Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

Importance of SEO

Search Engine Optimization is the key to building a great internet business. Without SEO, no one will ever find your website in search engines like Google or Yahoo. Many people think that you have to be an IT genius to be able to achieve this or to know how to program and read algorithms, but that is not the case. There are many ways you can achieve this without having to know how to build a website from scratch. The important part here is keywords. You have to have the right keywords and expose them in the right places. Here are some of the things I’ve learned from my mentor Sean Rasmussen, author of the book “Year of the Affiliate“:

  1. Make sure the URL of your website contains the keywords that you want to be ranked on. This can be in the form of the actual URL itself, or if you’re blogging, make sure your perma-links contains the keywords.
  2. Title of your page – make sure the title of your page contains the keywords that you want to be ranked on.
  3. Keyword density – this basically means that the number of keywords that you want to put into a post must appear a certain number of times on the page or post. This doesn’t mean writing the word in every sentence. This just means that you need to mention your keyword a few times, preferrably 3 to 5 percent of your total number of words.
  4. Highlighting and Bolding – Bolding or Italics can make the keyword stand out, and thus, search engines are more likely to take notice of this and would rank your website higher.
  5. Tagging – adding the relevant keywords to tags on your post will help in ranking. Make sure that the tags you use for the post is relevant
  6. Have links to other relevant pages on the web, particularly those with authority (like universities, government sites. .org sites)
  7. Make sure your content is relevant to the keywords that you are optimising for.
  8. Update your website or blog more frequently. More recent content is what gets higher rankings, as old and unused/unvisited sites will not get the relevance in search engine terms, so blog as often as you can, and stick to the relevant topic you want to have an SEO on.
  9. Age of the site also helps. This may not be something you can work on, but the older the site gets and the more frequently updated it is with its content, the higher it will rank in the Search Engines.

Year of the AffiliateVery simple stuff, ey? These are some strategies that you could now deploy and use right at this minute to help you with Search Engine Optimization(SEO) and get the rankings (and eventually the traffic) into your blog or website! All of these are covered in further detail in Sean’s book, “Year of the Affiliate“. A lot of people have achieved the great results in internet marketing because of this book, and I highly recommend it myself!

Til then, another post from Internet Wealth Builder!

Blogging can make you money

Blogging – a lot of people blog for the sake of sharing their experiences and their passions to the rest of the world. Many of them blog without any intention of reaping any monetary rewards from it. Some may put some Google AdSense advertising and banners on the side, but this is not the main importance of their blog.

A lot of people have not discovered how they can effectively monetise their blogs. In the book “Year of the Affiliate“, I learned that there is a way to make money out of your blog apart from Google AdSense and those already-known income-generating strategies. Sure, you have to blog on something that you’re passionate about (otherwise you’d run out of things to say!), however, through your blog, you can also convince your readers to purchase some products that you’re using in relation to your topic. As such, you can sign up as an affiliate to a website that sells a product that you love, and you can blog about it and tell the world your wonderful experience of the product.

Through this strategy, readers will become convinced of your experience, and if they already trust you as a person, they may just buy the product. There is a technique on how you should blog in order to reap the benefits of monetising your product, and this is mentioned in the Year of the Affiliate book by Sean Rasmussen.

Sean is a mentor of mine, and he has proven the results of his strategy with his own personal journey from being an electrician 4 years ago to a full-time internet marketer. Sean maintains several blogs, of which he puts out his passion blog called Mindset Mastery. Through this, Sean was able to build his reputation online and built his internet marketing business as time went on.

So, find out what you’re most passionate about, and start blogging, then find an affiliate scheme to join! I wish you all the success in building your internet wealth!

Building an online persona

One of the things I’ve learned while reading the book “Year of the Affiliate” is the power of social media, and how this can help internet marketers make sales and create a relationship with customers online. For most people, social media may be used just for fun and for keeping in touch with friends and family online. For some internet marketers, social media is used to heavily promote their products online and do full-on selling regardless of whether they know the potential customer or not. There are so many ways you can use social media sites like Facebook, Twitter or YouTube to sell products online, however, not many have found the effective way to leverage this avenue.

What I’ve learned from the book “Year of the Affiliate” is that building rapport online with your potential customers is important. In order for you to do that, you must work on building your online “persona”, or an “image” of who you want to be known as in cyberspace. This can help in allowing people online to relate to you and know who you are, and by that, trust is formed and developed. People will then start to follow you with whatever you do. One of these people following you online may just find out that you are selling a product that he or she also likes, and since he or she likes you and trusts you, the person may just buy it! Of course, creating an online persona and maintaining it requires some tricks of the trade, and this is what the book tells you more on.

There is a lot more detail on the book “Year of the Affiliate” and I highly suggest you go and get a copy of it! It’s well worth the $97 I paid for, and I’m starting to see slowly the returns and sales from the people following me! It’s unbelievably great! I wish I had this book handy before I even started wasting my money on Google AdWords and ineffectively selling using that means.
